goodness. this song and the truth in it just leaves me like whoa x infinity.
Truth stick about suffering: Matt's cancer made them thankful the Lord would "love us enough to understand suffering personally—and that he lovingly appointed us to go through a season where we didn't have anything but him."
BOOM.
What an incredible testimony.

Rock, Paper, Scissors . . . Dynamite?
The beautiful simplicity of this song is a sweet prayer of mine . . .
"Here's My Heart, Lord" -- David Crowder
Here's my life Lord,
Here's my life Lord
Here's my life Lord,
Speak what is true
Speak what is true
Speak what is true
I am found, I am Yours
I am loved, I'm made pure
I have life, I can breathe
I am healed, I am free
‘Cause You are strong, You are sure
You are life, You endure
You are good, always true
You are light breaking through
You are more than enough
You are here, You are love
You are hope, You are grace
You're all I have, You're everything

Here's my life Lord,
Here's my life Lord
Here's my life Lord,
Speak what is true

You're all I have, You're everything
Currently my Anthem --
You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now
So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
I will call upon Your Name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine
You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise my soul will rest in Your embrace

LOVE.
See, they asked me what I wanted to be, then told me what not to be.
Waiting:
an opportunity to be
weakened
or
strengthened
in the midst
of a
season
Waiting:
is NOT
about what I am
hoping for
at the
end
of my
wait - Rather,
God is
[more concerned]
with
what I am becoming
as I
wait.
Waiting:
provides me with
Time
to [consider] the
Glory of God
and to
grow stronger
in my
Faith
Waiting:
A place I pray God will find me,
faithfully,
with a surrendered spirit and
raised hands, singing
Hallelujah - the Lord be praised
If faith can move the mountains
Let the mountains move
We come with expectation
Waiting here for you, waiting here for you
You're the Lord of all creation
And still you know my heart
The author of salvation
You've loved us from the start
Waiting here for you
With our hands lifted high in praise
And it's you we adore
Singing Alleluia
You are everything you've promised
Your faithfulness is true
And we're desperate for your presence
All we need is you
Waiting here for you, Lord
With our hands lifted high in praise
And it's you, Lord, we adore
Singing Alleluia
We will wait for you, Lord, he'll stand with you
We will sing alleluia
Singing Alleluia, alleluia
Singing Alleluia, alleluia
Waiting here for you
With our hands lifted high in praise
And it's you we adore, we adore
Singing Alleluia

This video went viral on YouTube recently and after I watched it, I prayed that I will always look upon God's creation, particularly the moon, with the same kind of awe as this little girl, and jump with as much vigor, believing that if I keep trying, I will indeed, get the moon.
In case you missed this awesomeness . . .
I know this video has gone viral recently, but I just wanted to post it because this little man sums up my life. Seriously. Go out and do something awesome.
And the musical jackpot continues . . . Lyrics cut straight to the heart.
Happy Tuesday! Marry me, Ben Howard?
Depth over distance every time, my dear
And this tree of ours may grow tall in the woods
But it's the roots that will bind us here
To the ground
Depth over distance was all I asked of you
And I may be foolish to fall as I do
Still there's strength in the blindness you fear
If you're coming too
If you're coming too
So hold on, wait until that long sun
Breaks from the arms of the Lord
Yeah hold on, though we may be too young
To know this ride we're on
Depth over distance was all I asked of you
And everybody round here's acting like a stone
Still there's things I'd do, darling, I'd go blind for you
If you let it go sometimes, let it go sometimes, let it go
Just let it go sometimes
So hold on, wait until that long sun
Breaks from the arms of the Lord
Yeah hold on, though we may be too young
To know this ride we're on
Yeah hold on, though we may be too young
To know this ride we're on
Depth over distance every time, my dear,

Came across this, laughed too obnoxiously not to pass it on - Enjoy!
Being in the middle of student teaching is kind of like being in a trench during rapid enemy-fire. You don't have a lot of time to do anything else but survive.
So if you find yourself where I currently am, take heart and give Matthew Mayfield's new video "Take What I Can Get" a look and his incredible, raw, heart-reaching music a listen. I have loved his music since the beginning, when the music was known as "Moses Mayfield" - I am so glad that he has continued his music as a solo project. It is difficult to pick favorite songs of his, but this one is a close second to my ultimate favorite, "Element" --- Enjoy and keep on surviving!

Ellie Holcomb randomly came on my Pandora station the other day and it was a week-changer. Her recent EP Magnolias is based on Psalms --- here's my favorite so far. I love the rustic sound of her voice.
Here is a collaboration she does with one of my other favorite artists Jillian Edwards--

Propaganda throwing down the rhyme and rhythmn--- Someday I'll make a video like this, too - minus the dreads.
David Dunn ya'll - the only reason I would move back to Houston. That and the Black Walnut Cafe & Caitlin Levine. Can't say I wouldn't hate it if Mr. Dunn needed a Mrs. Dunn and wanted to bring singing, poetic babies into this world. Here I am, Send me. Enjoy ---
