Dear 2013 | a love letter of thanks
Dear 2013,
Thanks for taking me to Israel/Palestine and Jordan so I could
ride a camel in Petra
plank on the Mount of Olives
become best friends with Emma and Elise Heyen -
and
wake up to a sunrise on the shore of the Sea of Galilee.
And even though I spent most of your months
directionless, unemployed, and still living with my parents -
God used you, 2013, to lovingly appoint me to a season of unknowns
so God could show me how much I didn't trust
His Timing
His Character
His Character
His faithfulness
But thank Yahweh for His overflowing grace
because it found me in the mess of my own doubtful making
and restored my soul
and restored my soul
and took me on an adventure, where God made me a
social worker and gave me a new Perspective

And began to heal me through
loving, beautiful, Jesus loving and living people like these.
2013, you have been a year of miracles, of anguish and rejoicing,
of celebrating two different kinds of new life on the same day

both a celebration of new life - a coming and a going
into and out of this world

So thank you, 2013, for letting God use you to
show me the hard, ugly things about myself - but thanks be to God
for His grace that fuels gratefulness
Because there in an adventure to be had in 2014 -
and this one thing I ask of the Lord,

Oh, For Grace To Trust Him More
To Love Him More
To Follow Him More Closely
even when, but especially when
I do not have the slightest clue
where He might be leading
