FOR THE LOVE OF CHINER:

Today, God knew I needed to be reminded the world is not small, but it is His. Earlier this year (Jan-May), I enrolled in the Perspectives Class while I was living and working in Manhattan, KS. One week, the featured organization was All Nations, a discipleship and sending program based in Kansas City - and a girl named Nicole talked briefly about how God was calling her to go to China, even though China was the last place she wanted to go. I vividly remember that evening, simply because it was the night God trumped all my excuses. He had been working on my heart for a long time – incessantly whispering, China, China, China. So when I heard Nicole’s story, I wanted to throw up my hands in the middle of the silent auditorium and yell: PREACH IT, SISTA FRIEND.

Well, it has been half a year since that night, and I’m in China. And so is Nicole. Every third Sunday of the month, I travel to Zhengzhou for an international meeting. Today, I walk in, say hello to friends, and am introduced to this girl who looks strangely familiar. As we talk, she tells me her name is Nicole, is from Kansas, came to China through Academics in Asia (like me), and works at a school two hours away.

PSA, YA’LL: THIS IS THE SAME NICOLE.

Not coincidence. Not chance. Not a small world: just my big, sovereign, mind-blowing God. I forgot, ya’ll. But thank the stars we serve a Savior who helps us remember.
