oh pronunciations, how thou maketh me lose thy face
My little Asians have trouble with various pronunciations and this week it was the word "Luscious" - so, like the fantastic teacher I am (#notreally), I broke those syllables down like a rap song: Lush/Us. Of course, I taught the same lesson eight times this week - meaning, I spent A LOT of time saying, "Lush" overandoverandoverandover again.
I was sweetly informed via the uncontrollable laughter of my Friday afternoon class (the 8th time I taught Lush/Us), that the English word "Lush" sounds like the Chinese word for 'explosive diarrhea'.
So there's that.
